No meat
So I started this no meat diet about a week or two ago, and let me tell you, it's been the best and worst thing I have ever done.
Since my body has been so used to eating meat, and having a hearty variety of it, it's now starting to shut down and let the bad bacteria enter. I have surprisingly got a random cold, that I probably wouldn't have got if I was still devouring meat.
On the flip side of this though, I have lost a total of 4 pounds so far and hope to continue shedding the pounds daily!
The hardest part about this whole thing is living with 3 people that eat meat... almost every night they're making some meal that involves it, and there I am sitting there eating my bean burrito, or my penne with vegetables. Not that I'm complaining (I'm sure the food I make is 20x healthier and more delicious) but it's difficult to sit there smelling the amazing aroma of steak.
I tried tofu for the first time as well which was a very interesting experience. People had told me that I'll either like it or hate it so I definitely wanted to try for myself. Let me tell you... it's the weirdest thing I have ever ate! I made a tofu curry and although the rest of the plate was fantastic, I couldn't stomach the tofu pieces as they entered my mouth. I might have been over-thinking the whole thing, but every time I chomped down on a piece, I felt like I was eating small bits of a sponge. Still not sure how I feel about it, and I haven't ate it since... so we will see!
If anyone reading this has some awesome recipes for us herbivorous, let me know what they are! I would love to try new things. Also, let me know what your opinion on tofu is. Do you like it? Do you hate it? What do you make with it? What tastes the best?
Until next time, doodle-loo!
