Benefit Big beautiful Eyes contour kit review
The other day I went on a Sephora shopping trip - which I have surprisingly been doing a lot lately.
I wanted to buy a few things to boost my spending total so that I could upgrade to the VIB status rather than the Beauty Insider status. Keep in mind, this only took me less than a month (& you have to spend $300 in order to upgrade)
I had a few things in mind prior to entering the store, but unfortunately everything that I had wanted, they didn't have in stock. I also didn't want to purchase anything online because like the impatient person I am, I would die waiting for it to be delivered.
One thing that I really wanted was a new eyeshadow pallet. Though they are all very expensive, there's nothing like having some more wonderful colours to work with and create new looks with. I browsed the store for a short amount of time (I was currently on my lunch break at work and only had half an hour to look/buy/head back to the store). I came across many possible options but nothing really stood out to me. THEN I came across the Benefit eye contour kit and thought it would be perfect! Not only does it have neutral colours which I am good at working with, but it also comes with a bit of undereye concealer.
Obviously, it's what I purchased.
I guess that's enough for the back ground story as to how I came across this beautiful gem, so I'll jump into the review.
BENEFIT BIG BEAUTIFUL EYES CONTOUR KIT REVIEW 10/10
Okay. Doesn't that packaging just make you want to die?!
It looks so classic! That was the first thing that caught my eye. So for having such cute, classical looking packaging, I was already excited.
As many know, Sephora has all their products on display so that you can test them out before purchasing. Which is what I did with this product. The eyshadows were very pigmented, they were perfect for transitioning and they all blended well together.
My favorite shade out of them all is the contour colour. It's a medium brown shade that just looks amazing on the skin. It has a slight bit of a silk finish to it, so it gives off just the right amount of shimmer but also acts as a matte colour.
Like I said before, it does come with a concealer and if anyone has every tried the Benefit boing concealer, you will know just how amazing it really is.
I personally don't really use much concealer, never have in the past and just recently started trying it. But I have to say that this is such a great product. It's creamy, it covers well (not just your under eye bags, but also any imperfections, red marks, pimple spots you may have. I prefer it over my Tarte concealer.
It does come with two little brushes. One is double ended (thinner brush for your liner colour (dark brown shade) and then a fluffy end for the blending of your crease colour (medium shade). There's also a brush for the concealer. I must say although these brushes are just tiny little things for the kit, the fluffy end of the brush is so soft and blends perfectly. I don't think I have ever had a brush as soft as the one in this kit before.
The concealer brush is great for applying what you need to on your face, but then using your fingers to warm up the product and blend out is needed.
After using all the shadows and the concealer in this kit, I have come to the conclusion that it's the perfect go-to-look when you just want something simple but also want to make your eyes pop. It is a contour kit for your eyes, so it makes them look bigger while giving them that nice neutral no-makeup-makeup-appearance. I would recommend this to anyone, no matter your skin tone because the shadows will transfer brilliantly onto any skin while giving a bit of shimmer.
